For immediate release:
City of Oconomowoc officials have gone on record as saying
they're concerned about the upcoming August 12th Reunion for the
Oconomowoc High School Class of '71 being held at Roosevelt
Field. The concern is that police overtime required to patrol
this group could produce a substantial strain on the city's
budget.
OHS Class of '71 spokesperson Jim Gilboy tried to allay the
city's concerns in his response: "I know we have a reputation
to live down," stated Gilboy, "but I think I can honestly say
we're a changed group." Gilboy went on, "I mean look at Holtan;
he doesn't even stay up past 9:30 any more!"
Class officers also noted that they've required class member
Paul Mainz to post a $2 million personal liability insurance
bond before his RSVP to the reunion is accepted.
"Basically," Gilboy concluded, "I think you'll find we're now a
group that's interested in making a real contribution to
society. I hope the city will welcome us with open arms."
