Cooney Festival Week

As Jim Gilboy described, he picked a date for the reunion which would coincide with Oconomowoc's Festival Week, which includes the Downtown Extravaganza (Friday) and the Taste of Oconomowoc/Street Dance (Saturday).

Now Dave Ferris has an update for us:

Sunday 8/13/06 is the 2nd day of the opening weekend for Festival Week in Cooney. It is the 'Venetian Night' or Parade of Lights when boats are decorated with lights and then 'parade' around Lac La Belle. The Historical Society sets up a tent in City Park and sells ice cream, the Cooney American Legion Band plays a short concert in the Bandshell starting at 7:30, and then the decorated boats travel a brief circuit around the lake close to shore. When the boats have passed city beach twice they are done, and then fireworks are set off from a barge (weed cutting) out in the lake.

Since I am presently the Oconomowoc American Legion Band Asst. Mgr. I have some set-up duties and will be performing with the band.

If anyone is ambitious enough, bring your band instrument, some black trousers, a white dress shirt, and sit in with the band. Please let me know if 'you' would like to participate. If the numbers really grow we may need to add more chairs and staging.
